.

A Sprinkling of Haiku for you:

.

alive
with stillness
standing by the meadow

.

bees humming
tipping pink edges
of the white hydrangea

.

rusty wheel
on the rock wall
color weeping

.

one bird chirp
joins
the cricket song.

“Are you going to tase me, bro?”

Tony asks of Joy when she discourages his rhyming the haiku.

“I’m getting renga neck” he complains when the round table renga haiku whisk around the room.

“black sky sparkles

each star’s silent dance

folding into night”

baby quail

                                                                               baby quail

Tanka Poem by Joy Acey:
Twenty baby quail
scurry and scatter, running
under their mothers
breasts offering protection
soothing comfort, feathered love

A tanka is a syllabric poem made up of 5 lines.
Line 1 = 5 syllables
Line 2 = 7 syllables
Line 3 = 5 syllables
Line 4 = 7 syllables
Line 5 = 7 syllables

It is like a haiku with two extra 7 syllable lines.

Imps

imp

The rascal met the urchin
the devil and the sprite;

they frolicked in the forest
scampered, snapped to fright;

then terrorized the monkeys,
monsters, goblins, night!

thank you, Joy Acey for the prompt!

And here is Joy Acey’s Fibonacci poem:
MY DOG
Bark,
BARK!
My dog
likes to bark.
Round and round she turns
then settles on the rug to sleep.

Today’s poem is a FIB–a poem based on Fibonacci’s number. Try writing your own FIB today.
