An Invitation: A Poem Using the word: “inchoate” (in-ko-it)

Giant misses his golden goose

(This is not the poem I’m submitting, but is an inchoate original.)

Jack and the Beanstalk

Inchoate seed became the source of stalk and vine’s a-climbing.
Inchoate size then boomed the voice of giant’s growl and sighing.
Inchoate muscles pulled Jack up until he made the sighting
Of golden goose in huge tree house, his golden eggs a-laying.

To get Jack down, inchoate zeal arose to steal the day;
To go back up, inchoate faith and stealth to not be found.
Inchoate giants can still be tricked by tiny folk today
For valor, strength and wily acts are not the gist of pounds!

Succor the Breast Milk

As a baby cries for milk, cry for salvation. 1 Peter 2:1-3

Newborn:
drink
forgiveness
honesty
contentment
openness.

Let go the afterbirth:
hatred
pretense
jealousy
talking behind peoples’ backs.

Cry for grace.
Thrive!

Lonely in the vastness?

Rotate round renew!
Faith unfolds
To hold you fast:
Magnetic field of daisy arms.

Face the sun;
Drink the rays,
Yellow to green
To violet light:
Spirits joined!

My Holy Spirit (2)

Owl symbolizes wisdom. Holy Spirit brings wisdom to help us examine our lives; shows us past denial and self deception. He conforms us to the image of God’s son.

Your wisdom-eyes pierce the darkness of the night;
Inner light speeds vision through the trees and haze.
Your gizzard guides you in the storm, the winds
Make way for victory-guardian’s flighted maze.

The holy view, You knew, in Christ Your Son.

A rally-call, a tumult-spin, a war to win:
Protector’s wide spread wings!

Make way for victory-guardian’s flighted maze:
A guiding bird, watchful gaze, prophet
Of holiness! sanctifier-spirit!

Hope

I thought
I generated faith
hope
and charity
each day!

But NOW
I know!

Each morn
they’re placed
in a basket:
freshly picked flowers,
from the Spirit’s garden

JUST FOR ME!

Seeds of grace!

Doubt

Frozen with doubt
Puzzling out
The quandary.

Uncertain with doubt
Pondering out
The dilemma.

Skeptic with doubt
Questioning out
The scruple.

Qualms with doubt
Demur without
Wondering if.

Query faith
Imagine out
Ambiguity.

After all,
Doubts are
“the ants in the pants”
Of faith.

Misgivings
Give way
To understanding.
