hands in the Pandemic…

Pandemic

What if you thought of it
as the Jews consider the Sabbath—
the most sacred of times?
Cease from travel.
Cease from buying and selling.
Give up, just for now,
on trying to make the world
different than it is.
Sing. Pray. Touch only those
to whom you commit your life.
Center down.
And when your body has become still,
reach out with your heart.
Know that we are connected
in ways that are terrifying and beautiful.
(You could hardly deny it now.)
Know that our lives
are in one another’s hands.
(Surely that has become clear.)
Do not reach out your hands.
Reach out your heart.
Reach out your words.
Reach out all the tendrils
of compassion that move, invisibly,
where we cannot touch.
Promise the world your love—
for better or for worse,
in sickness and in health,
as long as you shall live.

poetry that punches…

I’m talking about love of life and adventure. Love and compassion for others. Love for the planet and the beauty of nature. Love for yourself. We could all do with a little more of that, right?

So, maybe today is the day that you celebrate all the love in your life right now – your family and friends, your spiritual connection, your animals, your neighbors, the great job you have or the excitement you feel about the house you’re planning to buy

One of the most famous Valentine’s Day poems appeared in Gammer Gurton’s Garland (1784), a collection of verse and nursery rhyme:
The rose is red, the violet’s blue,
The honey’s sweet, and so are you.
Thou art my love and I am thine;
I drew thee to my Valentine:
The lot was cast and then I drew,
And Fortune said it shou’d be you

Only you can tell your story…

And: “When you’re writing a book, you don’t really think about it critically. You don’t want to know too well what you’re doing. First, you write the book, then you find the justification for it. The book is constructed as a conversation, with someone doing most of the talking and someone doing most of the listening.”
American novelist E.L. Doctorow

American novelist E.L. Doctorow
He wrote: “Everything is held together with stories. That is all that is holding us together, stories and compassion.”

He said: “I’m not writing about nature. I’m writing about humanity. And if I have a subject, it is justice. And the rediscovery of the manifold way in which our lives can be shaped by the recovery of a sense of reverence for life.”

.

Meaning of the red chakra color: Red is the color of the root chakra (first chakra); it symbolizes safety, survival, grounding, nourishment from the Earth energy. Note that in chakra healing practices, red may denote inflammation at the physical level.

Meaning of the green chakra color: Green is the color of the heart chakra (fourth chakra); it is connected with love, relating, integration, compassion.

Creator

Sometimes God's Creations need to thaw...

Sometimes God’s Creations need to thaw…

Every setting is a grace:
the changing light
the cold
the warmth that falls on the frozen ground.

Do I fear judgement?
harbor uneasiness?
The Son of Man
brings healing
restoration
grace
new beginnings.

I was lost.
And found.
Why would I exclude others?

All God does is
create
transform
reconcile
sanctify.

I can be free of all disguise,
whole in the panorama of creation.
Clothed in “justice for all”
armed with a cosmic view.
No crying, pain, only an awakening.

NOW.
reconciliation
restoration
healing
wrongs made right
letting go of ill will
robed with the compassion of Christ.

I can be the lion
who lies with the lamb;
the lamb who bleats
for the lion.
I am the vibrant channeled creator!
