Return

Return
to your breath
when your mind wanders.
Return to your breath.
Return.

Return
to the blank page
the white canvas
the noteless staff
the ballroom floor.
Return to your breath.
Return.

Return
to the place
of your birth,
to the streets
of your childhood
where you played
with abandon.
Return
to the food
of your folks,
to the songs
of your ancestors,
to the ways
of the wise.

Return
someday
to the earth
to the air.
But for today,
Return to your breath.
Return.

Afraid

Wild by RoZo

i used to be

afraid

of being invisible

without scent

without voice

or breath

Siblings

blocked the view

placed me

outside the frame

a crack

in the wall

a centipede

crawling in the dark

But now

I sing

and clap

and dance

’til echoes

bounce from mountain tops

and angels sing

glory to the creator

praise to the son

submission to the spiritĀ

I have become

a voice to hear

a light to guide

a pathfinder!

Pattern #57 Non-verbal Connections

I sing because I'm happy

I sing because I’m happy

I sigh, I exhale,
I sing because I’m happy
My breath speaks volumes.

Pattern#10 Horse-talk

Horses

Horses know their breath
is soul-talk through nostrils flared
pulse and heart declared!

Outside

OAO6-2013

My cheek rests warm
on father’s breast;
his heart beat shakes my ear.
His stubble whispers through my hair
his breath blows fear from here.

He puts me down
to take a call:
I stand on solid feet
outside his heat
outside his lap
outside all right
outside here on my own.

With My Breath

whispers through whiskers

I puff up cheeks
puff like a fish;
croak like a frog;
ribbit like cricket.

Whistle like wind,
growl like a lion
sigh like balloon
losing its air;

Shout like a giant,
whisper through whiskers
murmur like hound
seeking its find;

Breathe in sweet oxygen,
cleanse all the toxins,
breathe in and out
’til I thrive like the air!
