from here to there;
and then to everywhere

from laps, to chests,
to shoulder perches,
to memory recall

from comfort wrap
a tender stroke
to clutching at the wind

it’s not the food
or litter box
or cushions in the sky

what cat needs most:
belonging
midst angelic feline kin

he needs to pray
in spirit now
and praise his Q and M.
