Orange creamsicles
twist ‘n turn
sliding down
the coaster throat
past the moat’s
speeding boat!

Yum! I wish I could find one of these, right now, in our school cafeteria!

Jeanne, you wrote this for Laura’s picture. It’s great. The orange dreamsicles evoke such memories in some of us, don’t they? I still like that ‘coaster throat’!

It’s always noteworthy when there are 3 comments on a poem. And I want to thank Laura Purdie Salas for her 15 word prompts. They place me in the company of savvy poets who have no problem spelling creamsicles which keeps underlining in red and can’t be found in Websters. Is it a hyphen I’m missing? Cha-cha says I’m spelling it right! Those on-line dictionaries are pushing in for relevance!
